This bathroom is quite retro now (installed in 1981) and from the jacuzzi tub to the spotlight on the ceiling, it's quite the place to unwind.
When the jacuzzi was installed, a steel beam was also placed in the floor to provide extra support. In addition, a second water heater was installed in the basement so there would be enough hot water. Good planning!
View into the 3rd floor bathroom from the top of the staircase. We'll eventually (sometime in the next two years) redo this bathroom in a more kid-friendly manner, but for now we are enjoying having such a big tub.
For some reason there is a wall partition with bifold doors that opens into the 3rd floor bedroom. The switch to turn on the jacuzzi is on this wall in the bedroom, so maybe it makes the jets operational from the jacuzzi itself by reaching through the wall?
We like how one could literally jump out of the tub, through the wall, and straight into bed.
Here's the view from the 3rd floor bedroom. It also shows the wall opening onto the jacuzzi tub. This top floor receives a lot of natural light, making it a very nice getaway in the house.
