Max's yellow scarf

Max's yellow scarf

This yarn now takes the #1 position of the softest superwash wool that I have come across. It's Shelridge Farm's Soft Touch W4, a Canadian company that I stumbled across at this year's NY State Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck. It's a 4-ply, worsted weight hand-dyed yarn. Each 100 gram, 200 yard skein was about $10, I believe, and I knitted it up on size 9 needles. The yellow color is called Mango, with contrasting Green Apple color stripes on the edge. I highly recommend this yarn to anyone planning a warm, soft, and washable garment.

My 8-year old nephew Max had a request in for a yellow scarf, so this will was his Christmas present. You can tell from the picture that he was happy as a clam to have received it.
