Ta-Da! The Brooklyn Bridge (and Empire State Building, in the distance) are wonderful complements to my finished Bottom's Up Bucket Hat!
Details ~ Knitted using Wool in the Woods Cotton Cloud (98% Cotton, 2% Nylon) in Bluegill. This is a slightly nubby, lightweight cotton, and the hat is a tad floppy as a result. I love it and it's a perfect match to my bathing suit, so it will get plenty of use later this summer when we head to the shore. No way I'm putting pics of me in a bathing suit up on a blog, though!
And for anyone who missed the birth of this Bottom's Up, check out my May Archives:
The brim is complete and it's finally a "flying off my needles" ~
Closeup detail of the colorway ~
Knitted and unblocked ~
Getting a nice rinse before blocking ~
Blocking over a roll of paper towels ~
And, I admit it....even after blocking the hat was a little too big, so I gave it another rinse and tossed it in the dryer on hot (gasp!) but it worked out well, and fits much better. So, there's the story of a Bottom's Up Bucket for a chick in Brooklyn.
Great hat and I love your photo!

Hi Jen!
The hat looks so great! I can't remember if you've departed Brooklyn yet - but I saw your note on my blog and want to make sure you know that if you are still in town this Thursday that we're meeting at the Tea Lounge on Union at 7PM. I'd love it if you could come - just not sure when you're headed across the river to Jersey?
Let me know your plans - I'll be there and Liz, Erika and Danielle -- maybe a few others...
The hat looks terrific!
