I've been knitting. It feels good, after the eight month slump I am slowly emerging from. Just a few more rows and a button band on the celery green fair isle cardigan and that will be finished. I've also started the following, both from Debbie Bliss Baby Knits Book (with my own yarn/size/pattern adaptations since I can never exactly follow instructions):
Tank Top, knit in Rowan Calmer on size 6s with a red/white/blue stripe pattern of my own creation. I'm loving this knit, it's easy, quick, in scrumptious yarn, and very summery. Should hopefully fit the (unnamed) baby boy next summer. I'm not a fan of patriotic color combinations (hating our current administration and all), but his babydaddy (God, I love that word...hehehe) was born on the 4th of July and so I thought it would be fun to have something for the little guy to wear at his father's birthday next year. Here's the back, I just started the armhole decreases:
Garter Stitch Jacket - knit all in one piece, with just the sides to seam up. This is the silk/wool Four Play yarn in Santa Fe color from Brooks Farm that I bought at the MD sheep and wool festival in May. It isn't as soft knitted up as I anticipated - especially in a garter stitch, which I'm not crazy about, but it looks warm and will be perfect as a late winter/early spring baby jacket. Can you just imagine it with super cool brown wooden buttons??
So that's it on the knitting end. I need to start taking life a little slower - been pushing myself far too hard on the house renovation, work obligations, travel, and some neighborhood stuff. So that means more time spent sitting on the couch knitting. Once the green cardi is finished I will cast on for a baby blanket using the Tess Yarn that I bought at Stitches East in October:

Does anyone have a nice stitch pattern that I should consider for the blanket? Or a good border pattern to use for the ribbon edging? In the house renovation disaster disorganization I can't seem to find my 365 stitches calendar that I usually use to pick a pattern for stuff like this. Thanks!
